    GW-5000 buttons

I just purchased a new GW-5000. I had always heard how hard the buttons were to push on this model. I've actually handled one in the past and they were very difficult to press. The buttons on the one I just purchased press just as easily as the buttons on my g5600e. Has anybody else bought a new one and experienced this or is this just mine? Thanks

I got mine a month ago and I just love it. The buttons are easy to operate.
My MM300, SKX007 and Datejust (and other nice watches) are resting.
    Is it "The Perfect Watch"?
    BTW mine was made 176E.

    And with family

Very interesting. If enough new recipients can concur and post their respective batch #s perhaps we can establish a 'changeover' date.

This would be a very nice change to the watch. Sadly, both of the ones I own have very hard to press buttons. You are very lucky to get one with softer pressing buttons.

Well I hope it is true. It is the one thing that held the watch back from being the best square g-shock. Well, that and the tendency towards some samples having slightly crooked solar panels.

If you have a gw-5000 with an aligned solar panel and smooth buttons, hold onto it!

    Re: GW-5000 buttons

I received my very first Casio GW-5000 a couple of days ago; manufactured on 280E (Oct 7 2015). I can report that the buttons are not easy to operate with fingertips but relatively easy to operate with the nail tips. Which is definitely not a deal breaker whatsoever. Even with short nails, being a rock climber, I can effortlessly operate the buttons with any finger (that has not sustained an injury).

    Congrats on your purchase.

    Re: GW-5000 buttons

I finally pulled the trigger on a GW5000 last month. Mine was made in July of this year, and it gives me no button pressing issues whatsoever. I was kind of expecting it to, but I've been squeezing on squares for years and I haven't noticed a difference at all.

Just receive mine today -second handed but barely used- and the production year is 2013, anyway no hard buttons so I'm happy after all. All the hype about more comfortable strap is true, also I really like the weight, noticiable but not heavy. 10/10 would watch!

    Re: GW-5000 buttons

Bought my GW-5000 a few years ago.

Not too bad for the first 3-6 mths, then it got harder and harder .. i guess due to a little movement of the bezel edge .. maybe a new bezel and clean is required every 3 - 6 mths.
