    GW-500a resin band

Newbie here...nice finding a forum on these great watches. I have done some searching, but let me ask here as well. Can the resin band on the Gw-500a be replaced? Would much prefer some sort of nylon band or paracord, but looking at the design I am thinking this is not possible. Any thoughts from the group?

    Thanks.

    Re: GW-500a resin band

Thanks...looks a bit clunky. Are there any Casio watches that fit the Zulu bands without adapters? Or, coming at this from a different angle...what I really want is a watch with a Zulu band...suggestions on a digital watch with similar features (atomic, solar, etc) that could take a Zulu band?

    Thanks in advance.

All Casios that I have seen using some kind of Zulu type band use an adapter setup. The factory adapters look a little nicer, but it's not a huge difference.

There was a 5600 modified by countycomm that you can see in a thread here. That's the only one I've seen that didn't need an adapter (but it isn't your 500).

Thanks for the info. So, getting away from Casios for the moment, what other similar watches can use the Zulu out of the box?

The G2300B (w/ nylon strap) will take a Zulu out of the box. Or, you could say the "adapters" are what come pre-installed on the watch. Pretty much any G that comes with a nylon strap should be the same.

It's not atomic, though. I'm not aware of an atomic that comes with a nylon strap.

The GW-500 won't take adaptors. It's an integrated band, and the only alternative is a metal band from the same series.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

My G-3010 will accept a Zulu strap, and has no strap adapters.
