    GW-79000b new buckle

    So i got GW-79000b which i love...
there is just one thing that bothered me.
why oh why did Casio chose polished silver buckle...

so naturally i had to fix it..

here is the result (sorry for cellphone pics):

    its a 20mm B&R style from panatime.
I probably should have gone with 22mm, 20mm is a bit too tight, i also had to use different tang piece as the one that came with buckle was to fat and wasn't shaped right for this strap.

That's a great mod. The new buckle seems to fit it perfectly.

Now I'm looking at mine and thinking I need to do something to it.

    Re: GW-79000b new buckle

so i got few emails about this project, people asking more info..
    so here it goes

Here is a pic of exact B&R style buckle i got from panatime:

Note the shape of the tang.

Here is a pick of same buckle on strap only modded with another tang:

this shape of the tang works perfectly with casio strap..

    one more view:

so your options are ether got with PAM stile buckle most of them come with correct tang.

    Or

if you must have B&R style buckle get 2 buckles and mod them as shown above.

I also suggest going with 22mm (mine is 20mm and its very tight on strap)

I see the B&R buckle on Panatime that you bought, but what other buckle did you buy to replace the B&R tang? I am trying to figure out if one of the Pre-V buckles would work since they have a PVD buckle also

That silver colored buckle always bothered me too -- such a simple detail to miss.

Nice mod. The silver buckle doesn't fit the watch idd. Too bad Casio didn't pay attention to this detail.

    Nice ,
I've started doing that mod to a lot of my watches.
You went B&R style and I usually go PAM style. I think the PAM tang would work for your mod as well since the tang is a bit thinner than the B&R.
    Cheers,
    Chris
