    GW-800 not holding charge

I have a GW-800 with the atomic solar features and it is not holding a full charge. the indicator stays on the medium setting. i've sat it up in the window all day and it still drops back down to medium after a few minutes away from the light. i've had it too long to return it, and i've read that getting Casio to repair it costs more than a new watch. should i try a new battery or just hope it never fully dies? where can i get a battery?

It can take much longer to get it to fully charge. See page 5 of your owners manual. It can take 25 hours of direct sunlight outdoors to get it from level 2 to level 1. Then, it takes another 7 hours to finish fully charging it. If you set it in a window inside, it takes 126 hours to get from level 2 to level 1, then another 35 to finish the full charge.

Remember, that's hours of sunlight, not just time in general.

I just got my Triple Crown Frogman in the mail and it is DRAINED !! the battery icon is has no bars and the word CHARGE is flashing. How many weeks (LOL) until it is fully charged ? I wont leave feedback until I see what shape the battery is in.

The sun will charge your Frogman MUCH faster than any other light source. Under good conditions, it could take up to a couple weeks to fully charge the battery.

If you insist on charging your froggy with sunlight I've read putting it in a glass of water will help keep it cool. Never tried it myself. I put mine 3" from a compact florescent light bulb. I'd rather wait than roast a watch. I once left a watch in the sun and the display turned black and it was too hot to touch. Definitely bad.

(I really like that smiley BTW.)

    SPROING!!!!

(oops! Time for a new watch!)
