    GW-M5600 question (sorry)

I am looking for a replacement for my GW-500A-1V. I thought I would like the looks of it, but it has fallen out of favor. I am an auto/mechanical guy but still need a G-Shock to keep the others in line!!

Until today, I thought that I had settled on a GW-M5600-1 but the reverse display version is growing on me and now I see an orange version. IIRC, there a 'gold' version but I'm not interested in the gold. Not sure if it was a GW-M or GW model. Anyway, I've picked the GW-M5600 because it is a tough solar / Multiband5 wave cepter and has what I think of as an 'old school' G-shock look.

Are the BC-1JF, R-1JF, & -1XX essentially the same watch with same module but with different cosmetic variations?

Is there any difference between the -1CR, -1JF, -1ER, & -1V models? Is it just the pictures or do these variants have a different colored 'ring' on the dial? What is the true color? Do all of these have the blue green display? Some look grey.

Light Orange/Red ring? Grey or Blue Green display?
    DW-M5600-1CR (eBay)

Dark Red ring? Blue green display.
    DW-M5600-1ER (eBay)

Light Red ring? Grey or Blue Green display?
    DW-M5600-1JF (Seiya)

Dark Red ring? Blue green display.
    DW-M5600-1V (watchwear)

I think I'm pretty clear on the GW-M5600BC-1JF models. Reverse display and stealth. One comes with resin band and one with adjustable link band.

And the GW-M5600R-1JF (Tanaka) is pretty cool. Nice orange details and orange display.

    Decisions, decisions!!

    Cheers,
    gigfy

    Re: GW-M5600 question (sorry)

As you suspect, the variants are essentially the same with different cosmetic variations.

The suffixes merely indicate the home or export market the watches are intended for. Some dealers confuse things further by only quoting a part of the suffix, or not quoting it at all.

As for colour differences, bear in mind that some of the pictures you have shown are idealised mock-ups rather than real watches. They are all, with the exception of the orange one, attempting to show the same thing.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

hi buddy. i have three of the four gwm5600s; the gg, miro (on zulu band), and bc. these are really fun watches with great day-to-day features. i like the size, look, and functionality.

from what i read online, some are bothered by the (only) 60 minute count down timer, and others are perturbed by time not being available in stop watch mode (note that it is available in timer and alarm mode).

Here are all 4 variations for comparison, with the "gold" in this picture wearing the bezel from a BC and a stock band from the regular GW-M5600 (i.e. red line) model.

The GWM5600 is a great choice. Hope you get it, and post some pictures when you do.

    Perfect synchrony!
Buying more watches does not buy you more time.

Looking for: Seiko SCVS013; Citizen PMX56-2811; Citizen Campanola CTS57-0701.
