    GW-M5610-1BER vs GW-B5600-2ER

    Hi all,

After a couple of years away from WUS (watch buying got out of hand) I'm in a better place for starting a collection again after going back to 1 watch for a while. So I want to kick off with an affordable beater and G-Shock is the obvious fit. Both of the watches in the title are available on good offers in the UK right now but I can't work out which would be the better buy. Both solar with alarm/chrono/world time so looking for any thoughts on which might be the better buy? The 5610 is approx £20 more.

    Thanks for your time!

Tag Heuer Professional 2000 - bought for my 21st in 2004 and still going strong.

Both good watches! The B5600 has the newer module with bluetooth (and still has atomic time) and has more features than the M5610. One of my favourites is being able to set the date to UK format (day month year)

You can do some pretty cool things with your watch with the Casio app too. (Youtube it)

Personally I'm not a fan of bluetooth on watches and I prefer the old school classic look of the M5610 so that would be my choice.

The B5600 is cheaper though with the better module so it might be worth giving it a go if you like the look and not had a Gshock for a while.

Let us know what you decide.

Thanks Mr Auto - its my first G-Shock (though not Casio) - based on the newer module and price looks like the B5600 may be the best bet.

cant go wrong either way and you'll more than likely end up with both.

For me it’d have been a difficult choice, but at £58.49, I would’ve gone for the B’tooth GW-B5600-2ER. HERE

Moot point though, as I’ve abstained from watch buying this year.

5610 any time. I found the 5600 to be rather uninspiring in the flesh.

    Re: GW-M5610-1BER vs GW-B5600-2ER

I have been informed that the bluetooth negative display is easier to read in low light conditions, than the 5610. Something to bare strongly in mind , i do like my 5610 a lot, but the neg is a little difficult, impossible in low light and at a slight angle.

Although more expensive(sorry for not helping) have a look at the 5000 models(UK a little under £200 with searching). This may be my next square, maybe i should have got 1 1st!

    Good luck and WB

I have a 5pos 5610 and a neg BY. Go for the BT - it's a much better with the extra functions.
