Chill! There are loads of Gs and none are perfect.

If you really want to research purchases before you make them in haste, input the watch's 4 digit module number into this link, and it will give you the operation manual to help you decide what you want.

    Watches [ Manuals ] - CASIO WORLDWIDE

The module is the 4 digit number which is allocated to every G's internal computer. It's that which defines the watch's operation and behaviour.
The Search function on vBulletin forums isn't very smart. If you want to search for a complete string in the G-Shock forum, or for posts which include multiple words, use Google, and enter site:forums.watchuseek.com/f17 into the search box. Then use normal google syntax after that to enter your search.

if atomic/solar, longer el-backlight and an easier to press lighbutton are important for you, the GW-M850 might be the better watch. other than that, the functionality of the G-7700 is almost second to none.

    cheers

I had the chance to own both. The GWM-850 is a bit smaller and more casual, while the 7700 is more sporty. Both have great modules, and have a touch of stainless steel in the bezel. I like the 850 just a bit more.

thanks for the reply everybody....i'm just going to stay with G7700 and see how it goes. if GWM850 is abit smaller than mayb i will like 7700 a little more cuz i don't like my watch to be small. As for solar and atomic, I'm still not sure if it is worth it to add extra money for them.

Sorry for the miscommunication, the 850 is probably the same size as the 7700, but the clean lines makes it more sleeker and flatter. I found it one of the most comfortable watches to wear. Too bad I sold mine
