Not too tight and not too loose, while on the actual GW5000 watch it's a situation where I'm between holes and is either too loose or too tight.

Just because this thread needs more pictures:

I completely agree about the wrist size.

I wore mine all day yesterday on the GW-5000 strap and it wasnít bad but had to wear it loose since Iím in between size.

On the GW-5000 that strap is a perfect fit (prob because the back of the case is thicker and different lug to lug distance).

Still love the watch. Glad I added one to the collection.

    Congrats Byron2701

And yes. This thread needs moar pictures

Thanks Acadian, I really enjoy this watch

And after looking at Kevio's pictures again and again and thanks to his hint in the mod-thread I already had to open and hydro mod it

I like this reference (and most) in their unmodded state. Changing the strap on this one defeats the purpose of the model imo. Just rock it as-is.

Congrats on the watch! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has hydro modded their S5600. When I'm comparing the displays between the S5600 and the GW5000, the increased contrast and clarity of the hydro modded S5600 makes it so much easier to read. I'm tempted to hydro mod my GW5000 but I'm a little worried about oil leaking afterwards. The oil doesn't add much weight to the S5600, maybe a few grams.

What are your thoughts on the watch after hydro modding?

Dang, hydro modded S5600! I find that it's already pretty legible and sharp. Hydro modding must take it to the next level.

I echo Powerband's comment about it being an ideal gym buddy. I usually wear the GW-5000, but lately I take the S5600. It feels almost invisible and unobtrusive on the wrist, which is helpful when lifting stuff.

Byron's earlier comment about the band forming a ring is well-said, at least in my experience. The carbon strap sort of hovers while staying in place, providing an even lighter, refreshing feeling on the wrist. Oh, and I'm happy you're enjoying the S5600! It was really a surprise how much I'm enjoying this watch. I regret ignoring it for so long. :(

Kevio's got what I believe to be the perfect square pair. They both deserve a place in a square fanatic's collection

And much props to the understated 5000 look that Acadian's rocking.

Kevio was trying to convince me to hydro mod my S5600 but I don't want to deal with how "messy" it is. Yes it does add to the clarity, but to be super honest, I personally think it's clear enough stock. My only issue is that the S5600 bracelet cannot be bought aftermarket and it looks like it would scratch easily. I initially took it off to keep it in good condition but I'm realizing that life is short - gear should be used and watches should be worn.

I will probably convert mine back with to the stock resin. I typically like keeping one of each reference stock and buy a duplicate to modify. If I had two S5600 - I might be more willing to hydro mod one.

Man I have several cool projects in the pipeline - can't wait to get all the parts.

Ah, I see. I've never hydro modded a watch, but I've been tempted to. It does seem messy, and since I'm terrible at DIY projects, I'll likely end up destroying a good watch. A hydro modded GW-5000 would be awesome though.

I think I've seen the S5600 band on PacParts. It's ridiculously expensive for a band though -- maybe around as much as the watch itself.
    Here's the link.

I've been wearing the S5600 with the stock strap like a beater. So far the strap seems really durable and scratches on the glossy strap don't seem to show. The metal keeper scuffs easily though. I understand the need to have a duplicate. It makes wearing a favorite piece easier.

I'm considering buying another S5600 in a year or so, especially if I'm still enjoying the S5600 as I am now.

Ah, I'm looking forward to more Acadian customs. I enjoyed seeing your take on the red-out series -- red display, inner strap red -- all awesome.

Ha Iím not a hard core modder like some of the guys in Indonesia. I wish I knew how to modify the LCDs to get those negative displays with bright red numbers.

Well for the time being this is how my S5600 is going to look

The bezel seems to scratch easily because Iíve only wore it once and itís already showing scratches

@Kevio: I really like the result. The extra weight I don't even feel. The digits are deep black and there are several light conditions when the digits seem to jump out of the crystal. Especially in lower light conditions it looks like there is no crystal at all. Funny, I also thought to hydro my GW-5000. But I can't do, somehow this watch is "special".

@Acadian, Otto: Yes, it is some kind of mess. But not as much as one might think. It's all learning by doing. If I were you I would just try it with a cheap watch and the solar squares are the perfect victims. Once the case is closed it never has to be opened again.
The inner solar glass is a little tricky (thanks Kevio for the hint with pressing).
Little amount of oil in the case. You can see the oil "sliding" between the 2 glasses. Then turn the case, look for bubbles (normally in one of the corners). Turning case around, next oil fill and very, very, very light pressure against solar panel. Next check, then fill the complete case with oil and put the module in. Next oil fill and some knocking on the module to remove the air inside. Some oil afterwards and the rubber disc put on place, again some oil, caseback closed and after the use of 2 teaspoons of oil and 10-15 minutes the work is finished others might do it in a different way, but this is how it works well for me.
