    GW2310 or Gulfman GW9100

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me to decide between these two, please? I already have a couple of g shocks and looking to get another.

My main question would be if these have a long, 5 second, EL light? I had a G2900 which I gave back because the EL light would only come on for about 2-3 seconds and couldnt be changed. The 7900 I have, I can select it between 3 and 5 seconds. I need 5!

Anyway, some reviews/comparisons and pics would be great!

    Thanks!

The GW9100 is here on the Casio site. You can read the owners manual here.

The GW2310 is here on the Casio site. You can read the owners manual here.

    To sum it up:
    GW9100 doesn't have the Chinese band (GW2310 is 6-band, GW9100 is 5-band).
GW2310 is not "rust resistant" (doesn't use titanium for construction, but does use SS).
GW2310 has two more world time zones (GW9100 has 29).
    GW2310 has a 24hr countdown timer - a.k.a. CDT (GW9100 has a 1hr CDT).
    GW9100 has a 1000hr stopwatch - a.k.a. STW (GW2310 has a 24hr STW).
GW2310 can go 1 month longer in total darkness (GW9100 goes 9mo).
GW2310 can select between 1.5sec or 3.0sec of EL time (GW9100 limited to 1.5sec).

Based on the longevity of the battery and the large difference in time to fully charge the batteries (if you don't understand what I mean...fully read the owners manuals linked above ), I bet the GW2310 uses the ML2016 battery (which many see as a "better" battery due to it's larger capacity). I'm merely noting it does not use (in my opinion as I don't own one to verify) the CTL1616. Furthermore, I have never had a problem with the CTL1616, so don't pay too much attention to those that worry about it.

the GW-2310 can be set to 3 seconds and the GW-9100 has a fixed 1.5 seconds setting. as far as i know, no atomic/solar model has a longer e-backlight than 3 seconds. from the current models, i think the G-7900 you already mentioned, the G-9000 mudman and the GLX-6900 are probably the only models with up to 5 seconds el.

the GW-2310 uses a CTL1616 solar battery. only the old G-2310 (w/o atomic) used the superior ML2016 solar battery.

Something that might help is that I have a G2300 and it's one of the most comfortable G's I have, I prefer to wear this over my 7510,GWM850,DW5600
and the 2310 looks just like the 2300

Well, I don't have a Gulfman so I can't really comment on it.

However, I did pick up a GW2310 a few weeks ago, and I can tell you now that it is a great watch. The display is sharp and crisp, the color scheme is stealthy, and it happens to fit my wrist like a glove.

This one has been getting a lot of wrist time. I always liked my g2300 "Golden Eye", with the exception of the display sort of fading at certain angles...not a problem with the GW2310. Also, I really had no use for the "data bank" feature, which has been removed on the 2310. Perfect.

    Hope this helps!

GW2310 shows day and date simultaneously if that helps for a decision.
Only atomic clocks tell you what time it is - all others try to do so.
