    GW5600J and GLX-5600-1 - Differences?

    Greetings all,
I recently got my first G-Shock, (GW5600J) and love it! I have seen pic of the GLX-5600-1 and like what I see. I like the 'shiney' band and case. I am wondering if it is the same size as the GW5600J. It looks like the GLX may be thinner? Does anyone own both of these G-Shocks? I's love to see them together in some pics. I thought I saw on another thread (can't find it again, of course ) that the cases were interchangeable, like you could put the GW5600J module in the GLX case, but not vice versa? That seems strange....

Welcome to the forum dantana I dont have the gw 5600 but think its the same size. I have the glx 5600 and really like it but im a big gulfman fan and really like to have the tide graph moon phase on the watch. the caseback on the glx is new and I think it is a little thicker. dont have the gw to campare but someone might have both and give a better answer

this link to mygshock might help you notice the caseback you might have to use search at bottom just add model number

ah yes! that is the thread I was looking for! that's where I saw this (and I quote):

If you have the $$$, the GLX5600 bezel and whatnot is interchangeable with the GW-M5600.
Edit: I guess I should add the GW5600J-1 will NOT interchange with the GLX5600.

ah. That was just what I was looking for. :thanks Looks like the GLX is definitely smaller. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to make the GLX a candidate for G-Shock number two, because I like it

    Re: GW5600J and GLX-5600-1 - Differences?

You dont' have size and weight in english site ?

    Try french one http://www.casio-europe.com/fr/watch/gshock/

Click on picture for GLX you get
    Dimensions (size)
    env. 46,7mm x 43,2mm x 12,7mm (H x L x P)
    Poids (weight)
    env. 52,5 g

    And for GW-M5600-1ER
    Dimensions
    env. 46,7mm x 43,2mm x 12,7mm (H x L x P)
    Poids
    env. 51,7 g

    Exactly same size and (52,5 - 51,7 g = 0,8 g) difference in weight

Less than a gram in difference.
    For US reader 1 g ≈ 0.0353 ounce ≈ 0.00220 pound
