    Gw6900-1 or gw9000a-1

Trying to decide on my first G-Shock watch and am down to these two.

Would love to hear folks opinions on which they prefer and why.

Also: is there a reliable place go get bezel sizes? Sites like Amazon don't always seem correct.

    Thanks!!

I'd go with the GW-6900. Its a good model to start off for a first G. The 6900 has always been one of the base models so i think that'll be a good start. Basic styling but updated technology.

I've had both and while I agree that the GW6900 is updated, they didn't did anything to upgrade the strap.

The GW9000 has a better strap and feels better on the wrist IMHO. I go for the GW9000.

That's funny: two replies and two different opinions. :)

    I appreciate the replies though.

Which watch is bigger in size?

    The 6900 is bigger.

I would go with the 9000 personally.

I have the GW-9010 (I like it better than the -9000), and just got the GW-6900. While the -6900 is getting a lot of wrist time, cause it's new, I really like the rally Mudman too. The -6900 IS bigger, but the Mudman is a good size. I find them both comfortable, but DIFFERENT. IMHO the -6900 strap is EXCELLENT as-is. Both straps are kind of "wider" than your wrist, so they allow for expansion. If I HAD to pick one....GW-6900. Between the GW-6900 and the GW-9010....that's tough, I'd really want both.

    Never had a GW-9000, but have had a GW-9010 and a GW6900.

I find the Mudman more comfortable. I like the little nubs on the caseback and the 2 prong strap.

I like the GW-6900 because it's more of a classic. It's just as tough as the Mudman, but in a much more simpler design.

I've parted ways with all my Mudman, and I'll soon be parting ways with the 6900. Not that they're bad, but mostly because I find them both as equal, and I'd much rather settle for a square.

Cant go wrong either way. Both big, both tough. Pick the one that appeals.

Haveing had several of both, I say the GW-6900, awesome fitting watch and the complete day and date are displayed on the time screen. I actually have my 3rd GW-6900 on the way, awesome G!

Although I have (just) the DW6900 and G9000 (non solar atomic versions) I would go with the 6900 due to looks, plus I find the 5 eyes and layout of the LCD not ideal for the 9000. Comfort-wise it is a toss up to me, with a slight edge to the muddie. The rally version (GW9010) is an improvement function-wise in my opinion, but I'm not sure it looks better than either the GW9000a1 or the GW6900.

If you have a specific need which one module provides for and the other does not that might bear consideration in your choice.

GW6900. Why you ask? Because I like it better.

Size of the cases from the Casio web site:

    GW6900 53.2 x 50.0 x 17.7mm / 63g

    GW9000 52.0 x 46.3 x 16.3mm/56g

The extra 1.2mm on the lug to lug of the GW6900 makes all the difference if your wrist size is above average.
