    GW6900-1 Questions

    Hello all,

I recently purchased a G-Shock GW6900-1 watch. It is atomic and solar. I bought it cause I'm gonna be doing a lot of shallow dives and backpacking this summer. Anyways... 2 questions.

    1. When it receives the signal at night, it tell me the time it came in. Above that time, it says GET, what in the world does that mean? I'm hooked up to the Ft.Collins, Colorado tower if that makes a difference.

    2. When the battery is on the high power mode, is there any way to tell if it is receiving the charge? Or does it have to be on Med. or Low power to indicate when it's charging. Just want to make sure the solar charging feature is working.

    Thanks so much

Get means "get the signal mode"

You cant see if the battery is charging, just wait if the level drops to mid or low over time.
But the GW-6900 has no known issues with charging.

    Enjoy your new Watch!

The Charge indicator doesn't tell you if it is currently charging, that's just an extremely low battery condition indicator. If you really want to see if it is charging, go to the solar test screen. Press the top left, top right, and lower right buttons at the same time. If it is charging it'll just say "SLR" with an otherwise black screen, cover the display with your had and it should show 8888 to indicate that it isn't receiving light.

    Lanky O,
That test screen that shows SLR just lets you know the Solar function works. The watch has a solar panel in it, so if it outside or in a window then it is charging. If you are, as you say, going to be outside a lot this summer, then the watch will always be "topping off" the solar battery. No worries, just wear it.

That's what I was implying, Rocat ;) So long as the solar panels are working, then it'll charge if it's light enough.

    Ok thank you guys.

One last random thing, after is says SLR or 88:88, i pressed the bottom right button and it took me to a screen that says 3179 over 00. Any idea what that means?

It's something to do with what version the module is, I think. Nothing really relevant for what you want anyways.
