Does anyone know how the end piece for the GW800D can be removed?

If you refer to the left side view of the pic from Casio GW800D-1V - G-Shock - G-Shock, Mens, Tough, Water Resistant, Analog, Digital, Watches | CASIO America, Inc. , you'll see that the area just below the Mode button where a screw is normally located, is covered with plastic. I am thinking that end piece could just be a snap fit and can be removed if the cross pin that links the end piece to the bracelet is removed. Am I on the right track?

Just thought I'll check in case someone else has done this before.
