    Question GW9400 differences...

What, if any, are the differences between JDM models and those made in Thailand?

As far as I know, regardless of JDM or not, all GW9400 are Made in Thailand.

JDM may come with Carbon Fiber band and cost more.

Exactly right. I’ve owned many of the 9400 models, including JDMs and the “Love the Sea and the Earth” Rangemen. ALL of them are made in Thailand. (For whatever reason)

The very FIRST GW-9400 that came out, was the black model positive display JDM Ranger, retail of $500 with carbon fiber strap. Chomping at the bit to get one, I got that version. Then shortly after, a month or two later, the U.S. version of that watch came out - exactly the same except without the c/f band, and a retail of $300.

I reckon it's to keep manufacturing costs down.
