GW9400 Rangeman charging issue. Advice please.

Received a GW9400 five days ago and seems to work well except it will not charge beyond medium. I've had it on the window and in direct sun for three days. Is it possible that the battery defective? Does anybody have any experience with this?

Do what I did. Go straight battery. Solar is not reliable, IMO.

Not reliable?? You must be kidding!! I have many solar watches (more than std. battery watches) and they are extremely reliable - never had trouble with a single one!

The OP cannot "go straight battery" if he wants to keep the Rangeman.

To the OP, read the manual section on battery charging. The "Medium" level of power has a huge range. Bottom line, odds are that you simply have not charged it enough. Keep charging it. It should eventually reach High.

Not true at all. It can take longer than 3 days to reach full. But once they do they usually never drop from full as long as its worn in the sun. Mine are all on H and have been for some time.As for me I only buy solar.

It can take roughly 16 hours in direct, outdoor sunlight to get from the low end of Medium to the low end of High on the Rangeman power meter.

Solar Casio are Extremely reliable and long lasting too. Have many well over 10 years old, some are 18 yo on original batteries working perfectly on full charge.

OP Rangeman needs more time in the Sun.

Put it out even it's cloudy. Not as good as bright and clear sunshine but it's better than behind a window. More than likely it's been sitting in that G-Shock tin a few months and just needs juice.

That is sorta what I was thinking. Casio makes these watches by the millions, puts them in boxes, and then they go in warehouse to await shipment. For all I know this watch could be part of the original run from 2013. However, the one suspicious thing is that it time synced 3 days before I received it.

I wouldn't look too much into that. I have 5 multiband watches all sitting next to each other in a case and most times 5 out of 5 will synch but sometimes none will or some will. Watch was probably in an advantages location at the time it was trying to synch.

You can use the batch code to figure out where and when it was manufactured.
