    GXW-56 unboxing and questions

    First the pics:
    (No clear shots of the face because there was a lot of glare, but I can add more later if anyone has requests.)

    Questions:
    What is the SNZ alarm?
    What's the refresh rate on the atomic reception level? (Is it every second? Continuous? Every minute?)

    Thanks!

    Thanks!
    SNZ=snooze alarm
    Assuming it is like almost every other atomic Casio, it synchs with the atomic clock every night, starting at midnight every hour until 4 or 5am or until it receives a signal, which ever comes first.

    I hope that was helpful.

    Thanks for the info. Actually on the atomic question I meant when you do a manual receive it says L1, L2, L3 for the reception strength. I was wondering how often this was refreshed as Casio recommends using it to find the best place for reception in your house.

    Hope you weren't hit by taxes. Was this delivered or did you try your luck at the post office?

    Kirk you noticed! I got it today. It said it was in customs yesterday. Then it cleared today (after my post). Thought it would come by tomorrow. But the mailman rang and had the box. No customs or fees. I purchased it Sunday from new-tokyo-toyz on eBay and it arrived on Tuesday. Pretty fast!

    I'll post more and hopefully clearer pics of the face soon. Also maybe some side by sides with my GW-2000BD, soon.

    That's precisely what he tried to explain. ;)

    It will only automatically receive a signal about four or five times at night. The last signal refresh stays put.

    Every signal reception attempt whether manual or automatic lasts for about 3-4 minutes. If within that time the signal isn't received you get a received error.

    Read the tutorial on better syncing tips in the respective forum section.

    Basically put watch on a window sill. 12 o'clock side of watch should point in the direction of where the emitter is.
