Solar and standard battery are alternatives rather than one being better than the other. Each have their adherents, but it's not really an issue that should sway you when making your choice.

All the models you have listed are desirable, so isolating any 'must-have' functions might help you narrow the choice.

I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

    Welcome to the forum NewG

I really cant say one is better than the others. I do think its good to have at least one Atomic watch so you can set other watches clocks in the house.

You normally get more functions and a brighter EL with battery powered G Shocks. Please dont get stuck in the Atomic and Solar only group. You miss out on too many great G Shocks that way.

The G9000 Muddy has a dual stopwatch that I really like and my G7500 has extra large digits that I love very easy to read, it also has a vibrating alarm very cool.

Battery changes are easy and batteries are cheap about $ 2 dollars. They should also last between 5 to 7 years with normal usage, not hitting the EL all night long

Good luck and let us know what you get and remember to check the sales forum here for some great buys.

    Re: Helloo!!!!

    WELCOME !!! FROM 1 NEWBIE 2 ANOTHER

Have you seen a DW6600C-1V ? I just received 3 new ones today

    DW290-1V

    DW6900MS-1

    DW6600C-1V

Add those 3 to the 3 I already have (listed in order of acquisition)

    G9000MS-1 My First

    SGW100-1V My Second BUT It's Not a G

    GA100-1A4 My Third

Out of all of them that I have handled & have any experience wearing, I would have to say for my first one I may pick the GA100 or a G9000 BUT there's just something about that DW6600 that I LOVE followed closely by the DW6900. Also if you look around you can find the DW6600 for $40.00 or so. Here is where I got all my CASIO pieces (except for the GA100)

They have treated me good & are trustworthy. I Wish you all the luck in your pursuits, My Friend.

    Respectfully,
    reed420
