    Help choosing a solar/atomic model?

    Hi everyone,

I currently only own one G (DW5600E-1V) and am interested in getting a solar and atomic model. I really like the 5600 design and am torn between the GW5600J-1 and the GWM5610-1. Anyone have any tips or advice for me? Any other models to consider? I kind of would like to a different type of G other than a "square" since I would only have two and don't necessarily want them to both look exactly the same, so I am interested in other suggestions as well. For what it is worth I'd like to stay below the $150 range.

Also, of the two watches I listed, is there any real difference? I know the features are slightly different but is it anything worthwhile to make up the price difference? One thing that has me doubting the GW5600J-1 is that you can't see the day and date at the same time. Is it possible to at least have the date up all the time instead of the day? All the stock photos I see just have the day but that seems like it would be the least helpful info to have up at all times.

Thanks in advance for your help everyone!

I would go with the gwm5610-1. It's a 6 band and has many more features than the gw5600j. I own the gwm5610-1 and it's been my main watch that I always wear. I love that it looks exactly like the original dw5000c-1a that I purchased brand new back in 1983. I just love the style and looks of the original dw5000 that I had to have one that looks just like it. Get the gwm5610-1. You will not regret it.

Re: Help choosing a solar/atomic model?

Costco has the Mudman 9010 model for $95 currently - it may not be the best "looking" G, and the buttons may take a little more effort to press, but it is a great deal on a great G. I own two Mudmans already (see my sig line) and I may be partial to them, I think Casio has done a good job on this line.

Again, not everyone prefers the look, but I love the large digits and uncluttered display. When the watch does not successfully sync, the "G" in the center of the display does not appear, and the box is blank - which some do not like.

The perfect addition to a classic square would be a GW-6900.

I have a GW5600J-1 and am very pleased with it. The 5600J ran around $50 cheaper than the 5610 when I was looking and I could not see any real benefit in spending the extra money. Both are great watches and you can't go wrong either way, IMHO. Cheers, Bill P.

I prefer the GW5600 over the GW-M5610. Not crazy about the red line on the glass of the GW-M5610 and also the numbers seem slightly larger on the GW-5600.
