    Help Identifying.

    Hi guys,

Here is a watch my Grandpa loved to wear. Was wondering if ya'll could take a swing in trying to see what it is? Would love to own it.

It looks to be a Casio but not sure if G-Shock or not.

Anyways, any help will be greatly appreciated!

From the blue spot at the 4 o'clock position of the face, plus the "ripples" in the strap, it looks a lot like a DW-290. It's widely available, not very expensive, and a sub-forum favorite that's often referred to as the "almost a G-Shock." The module was used in a couple of official G-Shocks, and the only things that keep this one from being an actual "G" are the lack of a replaceable bezel, the slightly wider springbars, and the plastic buckle on the strap.

If you plug "site: forums.watchuseek.com/f17 dw 290" into Google, you'll find several threads on this popular watch!

Here's a picture of mine on a different strap, with the painted-on green lettering removed: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/wru...ml#post9873594

There's a nice LARGE picture here at the Amazon.com listing: http://www.amazon.com/Casio-DW290-1V.../dp/B000GB1R8M

I think it is a dw-290, and I can't upload pics, and neither see some forums, like the abc! Weird!

I agree, definitely looks like a DW290, with the quite visible blue arrow pointing to the light button and the ripples in the band. The man has good taste in watches.

Yep, it looks like the DW-290. It's cheap, relatively speaking. IMO it looks better without the stock strap or the turquoise lettering, like mine and d2mac's.
