    Help me choose

Newbie here but not new to watches... these are the criteria that I would like in my new G.

    1. Price.. $100ish or less.
    2. Solar
    3. Atomic
    4. No wild colors
    5. Comfortable to wear (not stiff)
    6. Sharp looking and functional
    7. Tough and durable... survive all the elements.

Now what are your suggestions and why... as I am new to the G-SHock thing... help advise me on the features and benefits of those that you suggest. Thanks for helping a newbie..

You want all of that for $100?

If you're in Japan or North America, a GW-5600J ticks all your boxes, but is gonna cost you more than $100. Something's gotta give if you want to come in under the ton.

Check JC Penney, they've been selling the GW-5600 for $100. I bought one last week at a Montana store for 25% off. $75 for this model is a steal.

    Hi Crue,

Welcome to the G-Shock forum. I can only echo Seamaster's and Mholje's advices. I believe that they were indeed available for low prices at the JC Penney stores. Several members here have bought there the GW-5600 the past weeks.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

    Re: Help me choose

I am in the US... but I really don't like that model's styling... What of my criteria is limiting my choices? Price? If so I can swing around $200 if I need to... does that open up more options? Or is the Atomic... the part that is limiting?

$200 would get you a Mudman GW-9000 from most asian vendors, would also cover all your bases.

    Re: Help me choose

Now I like that styling much better...

G-9000-1V model has everything I like but is not solar nor atomic, is that correct? But is much cheaper at around $70?

    Re: Help me choose

Ok.. Frogman, Mudman, and Raysman... what the heck are the difference s(short answer will do)...

Would the Solar and Atomic features to you guys be worth the extra money to have? Is it worth it?

Just when I thought I knew all about my "hobby"... then came the G-Shock craving (which I know very little about)...

Thanks for helping a newbie out..

    Re: Help me choose

I'll let someone more knowledgeable than me go into the whole Frogman, Mudman, Raysman thing, but if you want my own opinion, I wouldn't buy any G-SHOCK without ToughSolar and Multi Band Waveceptor any more except maybe the classic DW-5600E as a beater.
