Help with my DW6900 Battery replace- no sound

I read the How to part, and how not to turn it over....

Unfortunatly , I only found this site after the fact....

Here's the thing... I have a tiny gold spring that fell out... I have taken the whole watch apart and can't figure out where it would have come from.

There is a silver spring that seems hard mounted... that one is fine...

But where does this gold one go?

Also--- my "Auto" on my countdown will not turn off, and if I want to reset my stopwatch now, I have to hit the button in the upper left, where as it used to be the upper right....

Would that stuff get reset with the "AC" contact?

    Thanks fellas....

    Hi DW6900,

What a pity, I recently changed a battery in a DW-6900 (I asume you mean the triple eyed devil, not the DW-6900E or DW-6900S.
It's pretty late here, but I will try to take a picture tommorow

    Cheers,

    Sjors

    Hello Dw6900,

I hope this site (from the helpfull mr coo) is of benefit. I can't remember/figure how to bring up the English version:-S

    Site link
    http://mr-coo.com/battery/casio/casio.html
    dw-6900 link
    http://mr-coo.com/battery/casio/g-sh...6900-1289.html

Other than that I think it's a matter of waiting for the much experienced Dutch Master to post.

Maybe this site (mr coo) should be placed where it is easy to find? Assuming ofcourse that it is allowed by WUS policy.

    UPDATE

    It beeps again....

I had no tech guide, so I thought it was the gold spring that was supposed to make contact with the buzzer...AND I must not have seated the silver spring in place all the way the first time....

It's still acting weird though.... Anyone had any ref material as to where this TINY gold spring goes?

    Symtoms

    Stuck in 24 hour mode
Stopwatch only resets with upper left button
And the countdown timer is stuck in auto

It couldn't be a spring beneath a button, could it? I don't know the anatomy (so might be totally, ignorantly wrong), but if your problems are related to buttons?
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

    SJ , Thanks......

I figure that gold spring HAS to have something to do with the upper right button. Because that button does nothing right now, yet everything else works.

    Hi DW,

I have no clue where your golden tiny spring comes from. I have operated an old DW-6900 toroughly and I only found the alarm spring. It wasn't hard to find where it need to be placed. Here some pictures:

The problem with the DW-6900 "gone crazy" is probably caused by a lip on the button, in stead of besides the button (forgive me my bad English expression). I and a student here made made a few pics to show the problem and how to solve it. You need a very small screw driver and put it between the inner case and the metal lip. Carefully push the lip of the module and the module carefully down in the case. If the lip was blocked by the button, you will feel now the module slides down a little. Check if all lis are against the buttons and not over.

I hope this helped you a bit,

    Cheers,

    Sjors and Yessi
