Exclamation Help needed: Casio G Shock for Kids

Hi everyone! I need to buy a Casio G shock for a 7 years old boy (he wanted one), but I know nothing about G shocks nor watches.
    1. Are Baby G meant for kids/babies? Or are they just women watches? I remember I had a Baby G long time ago and its definitely not a kid's watch.
    2. Are Baby G and G shock the same?
    3. What models in the G shock/Baby G range are suitable for a 7 years old boy with a small wrist?
    4. What is the apprx price range? And where can I get it?

Thanks so much for your advice.

    Hi,
yes, Baby G is mainly aimed at women. But there's also the "Mini G" and "Club G" - they're however not sold in all markets. They are basically just slightly smaller versions of the normal models.
I like this one for example:
Casio G Shock Mini GMN 550 1CJR Japan Limited New SHIP from Japan | eBay
Simply search ebay for "Mini G".

My 6 years old son is wearing W-202:

My 10 years old son is wearing W-740 (he got it for 8th birthday):

Size: 223.2 KB

Both are cheap (30-35 USD), small and light.
Both have 1 alarm, stopwatch, timer, nice light (not bulb) and are WR50 or WR100.

I think G-shocks are too big for 6-8 years old children.

    Cheers, Piowa

Club G is the way to go if you can find any. I managed to get my son a couple but they are incredibly hard to find. I think they have been replaced by the Mini G line in Japan but not anywhere else.

Look at the baby g watches. I sell these quite often to lads in this age bracket: BG169R-1, BG169R-7A and BG169R-8. You could also look at the colorways in the BG1005 and BG1006 series but these are more "girly" color schemes. Check out www.baby-g.com and send me a PM if you're interested in a good deal. I offer discounts and free US shipping for WUS members. Cheers!

    choya,

My 7 year old son looks at my collection everyday and wants one also. I showed him the F108 series and he likes those a lot(mostly for the colors) this way he can get a few different colors for Christmas. You can't beat the price either.

    Have a great day,
    Casio/ Citizen/ G-Shock/ Pro Trek/ Seiko

I think he should be fine with DW5600 series. Let him pick the color that he wants so he can enjoy it everyday. GLX5600 GLide has glossy color that kids may like. The price are around $50-$80. They are indestructible so totally worth it to let the kid abuse it.

My son was 6 when he got his first G, a DW-5600, almost 2 years ago. He was pretty excited ..

My youngest boy has worn a 5600E from 9yo. He took it apart...got it back together with only one screw missing and the bezel on upside-down...we found a screw for it and it's been good to go.

One me thing we learned....watches are not allowed playing most sports, soccer, etc. and this provides an unfortunate opportunity for the watch to get lost. He is on watch #2.

My my oldest wears a Casio Phys which he coveted after I got one....his is blue. He had pretty much destroyed 3 Timex.

Yup - watches need to stay at home for sports. Sometimes you'll see me with a watch on each wrist at games.
