Help! Question about an MTG900 / MTG930 series

I have found what appears to be an MTG900 / MTG930 series G, but it has a shiny blue front and a negative display.....was it a real model or a fake? If it's real, what's it worth (retail)? I can get it for $50 cash, and it's new in the box.

Thanks for any info, or if someone has an actual pic of one you may have....if you could post it so I can see what this model really looks like (their pic is kinda crappy).

    Carl.

    MTG-960?

Prices run about the same as the other MTG's I imagine. $50 NIB sounds like an ok price if it draws your attention. It uses one of the older modules that were common in the MTG line, so good stopwatch and alarms, but no CDT.

If it is anything like my MTG-900, I'd say get it. It is a fantastic watch. It comes as close as any watch I have as my "Go-To" watch. Even without the CDT.

Second question: does anyone know if it syncs up to the atomic clock in the united states, or just in europe?

Re: Help! Question about an MTG900 / MTG930 series

the MTG-960DE-2VER only syncs with the transmitter in germany and england. there are of course MTG models for the US market as well, but i am not sure if the MTG-960 was ever released there. here you will find informations about the current MTG (us) line:

    http://www.casio.com/products/Timepiece/G-Shock/

all new atomic/solar casio watches nowadays come with a multiband 5 or 6 receiver so they will work in the us, germany, uk, japan (5) and china (6).

Off Topic post Re: Help! Question about an MTG900 / MTG930 series

    Hi Carl,

I have two G-Shocks that are similar but not identical. They both sync in North America.

My favorite is the GW-700BTJ-1JF Black Force. Unfortunately, these sell for roughly $400 now on eBay if they are brand new. Titanium, made in Japan, black caseback, syncs in North America, factory-stealthed, etc.

The other is a standard MTG910DA-1V. Much more economical, appeared in Mission Impossible III, syncs in North America, etc.
