    Hex driver size for GWN1000

Does anyone know the exact hex driver size for the strap screws on the GWN1000? I'm assuming it's a Japanese/metric size, so any recommendations for where to buy the right driver online would be helpful. Also, am I correct that it isn't possible to change the inner steel bezel without removing the entire bezel resin?

    Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure about the hex driver size.

According to this post, the resin bezel must be removed in order to remove the metal bezel.

pretty sure its 2mm (at work so i dont have it in front of me)

gwg is def. 2.5mm and they are bigger than these on the gwn.

if you have a basic jewellers kit with hex heads it would most likely be one of the options

Re: Hex driver size for GWN1000

Thanks for the responses and the link to that other thread regarding bezel swap. I read it a long time ago and had forgotten about it. I found this YouTube video ( https://youtu.be/7-7B6wbsGgk ), and the comments state the proper hex size is 1.5 mm. I'm just going to get a set of small metric drivers and I'm sure either the 1.5 or 2 mm will work. I know that for Phillips screws there is actually a slightly different shaped driver needed for G-Shocks (JIS as opposed to Phillips). As long as these hex screws are a normal metric size and shape, that's all I need to know. Thanks again--

If you want really good hex drivers that are less likely to damage the heads you could look at Wera or Wiha. Not cheap but excellent.

My pleasure. You will find plenty of reviews of the tools on Youtube if you have enough interest.

Below is a pick of the driver (1.5) I used for my GM mod when it first came out. I no longer have the watch, but I searched that thread to find the pic. I strongly echo the above sentiment to go with Wiha or Wera for all of your precision driver/bit needs. I can't count how many threads I've seen on both watch and knife forums where members have eff'd up thier expensive items with cheap drivers. In my experience Wiha even outperforms Bergeon drivers that are intended for watches.
