    hiding g shocks

Hi friends my girlfriend knows how i like g shock watches but she does not understand ,so this is not a conversation topic for us. She think i only got two watches ( when she meet me i only got one ) but i have 7 ( dw 6900, dw 6700, dw 9052, dw 003, dw 004, g 7900 and gd100) .every time i bought a new one i do not tell anything, i hiding my colection from her just for a money matter, for her i just a waste and sometimes i tell her i am short of money so she never understand such contradiction. We do not live together so it is not dificult hide my litle collection, if we get married i tell her : look babe all those watches are a wedding gifts from my friends!
How about you my friends, someone in the same situation?

If you have to hide your hobby, maybe the two of you are not compatible.

The best policy is, of course, the truth. Not to say that you need to come clean in a big showy display, but instead just keep all the watches out where they can be seen and not mention it at all. She'll either point it out or not, and if she does, just say "well, these are my watches" and leave it at that.

    Re: hiding g shocks

I had to run an errand earlier and did not finish my post. I was going to mention that is is not a good idea to hide watch purchases from a spouse or significant other. That type of behavior leads to problems down the road, or immediately if she finds your stash of watches under the bed in the guest room.

My wife used to get mad when I had watches delivered or if she "happened to notice" a new colored watch on my wrist. She is OCD so she noticed a lot. She knows it's my hobby. As long as I don't go broke or forget a bill that is due she doesn't care anymore. Although she has been known to try to hide a package or two for fun and say nothing was delivered, but package tracking is a glorious thing. LOL

You better come clean if you plan on serious relationship.

If it's not serious then ignore all the above advice and have fun....

If she not understand you're hobby, maybe she isn't the right one for you, just saying.

Based on experience, a girlfriend is more expensive to maintain than watches. :D

    Re: hiding g shocks

I started out trying to hide my watch hobby but when my collection got to 30 G-Shocks I had to come clean, surprisingly she was kind of okay with it.

It also kind of helps if you understand that most women do the same thing with hand bags and shoes, only they know how many they have ,they will admit to some but not all.

I'm pretty lucky I don't have to hide anything and my wife shares my hobby. She has her own collection of G-Shock's & enjoy's taking wrist shots etc..

Agreed with Rocat about coming clean if its a serious relationship.
