How can I tell when my G-Shock was built?

I have a Casio G-Shock model number DW-5600BB, the only other numbers on it are 3229 which I take is the batch number. I know the watch only came out last year but was wondering if there's a way to tell what date/month. Would I have to take the back off to find another number?

My watch only has the model number on it plus those 4 digits 3229.

Four digits refers to the module number. Unless it happens to be a Master of G release or some other special type release, most don’t have a batch code imprinted on the case back.

Re: How can I tell when my G-Shock was built?

Short answer: you can't, unless you saw it come off the assembly line.

The chart that fcasoli provided gives you your answer. Notice it says that batch numbers are only found on solar-powered models, and serial numbers are only found on some higher-end models. That's why yours does not have those numbers.

As mentioned, 3229 is the module number. Search online for "Casio manual 3229" and you can pull up the manual for that module.

I’m under the impression only solar models have such serial number that you can tell manufacturing date. Non solar models don’t have them.
