If it doesn't move it might be a solid steel bar.

Use a plier to get the buckle out.

thanks, I was hoping that I could do this gently to avoid scratching the PVD coating
    Plier sounds a bit risky

    AngryPossum,

I felt the need to flip my strap keeper on my RAF A1000 cause the logo was upside down, this meant that I had to remove the buckle, I used the pin from the iPhone sim eject tool to release the spring bar that attaches the buckle. Simply put the sim tool into the hole in one end and push, you might need to add a bit more force than you think, then it should pop out of place with a little encouragement. I highly doubt that casio is going to go cheap by using a steel bar on a watch this pricey.

Frogs don't have a spring bar on the buckle. It's a straight steel bar and pliers are the only solution I've found. All you're tying to do is expand the buckle just enough for it to pop of. Put some duct tape or some type of cloth where you plan to use the pliers to prevent damage to the coating.
