It's not too bad to be honest Jeff, I have not actually transplanted a module as such but what I have done accidentally (although I told the misses I had meant to do it when she heard the swearing!) is completely flick the module from the watch whilst changing the battery, this has happened about 3 times now and I was surprised at how easy they come out and go back in again, the important thing to remember is to pull the button pusher tabs in gently when loweing the module back in to save any damage or bending.

Loaded question Jeff. Do you want to remove a dead module and replace it with an identical working module? No problem. If you're talking about replacing one module with a different type than the watch originally had then it may or may not work depending on the module and the case. What have you got?

    The first. :)

Well I am CONSIDERING swapping a1826 for a 1825 :) Both models are DW004. Problem is, I'm not sure about the integrity of the case for the Recipient watch.
