How long to charge before declaring a CTL 1616 dead?

I got another second hand MTG-900 recently, when it arrived it was on zero power, so I set it charging. It has now had 1.5 (pretty sunny) days on the windowsill and it is not working properly. When it has been charging for a while it reads full power, but as soon as I press a button, the "recover" indicator comes up and none of the functions work.

How much longer should I leave it before contacting the seller and telling them the battery is duff?

I have a tough solar using the same batt and I think the batt is dead.

    Hi Luke,

The CTL1616 bug is often featured by a full battery that goes into recover mode as soon as the light button is pressed. Within a few hours the watch appears to operate normal, until you ask the battery a little more action again.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

I've done that now, waiting for a response.
