Why do you have to leave it to charge?

As far as leaving your watch on the dashboard or similar mega hot szenario for charging, I'd rather be on the side of caution.

Your watch can probably manage a great deal of abuse like that, yet mind that there have been reports of damage of the display's polarizing film.

Particularly I recall one incident where an Italian member here bought a Mudmaster, that was a long time store window front display piece. As a result, the LCD display on this otherwise brand new watch turned out to be in a very poor condition.

The best way to charge it is just to wear the damn thing. It sounds like you are outdoors enough you’ll be fine. No need to overthink it or do anything elaborate. I know some people jump in terror at the thought of their watch dipping even slightly below full power, but don’t fret you’ll watch will survive it, along with the apocalypse. Enjoy

Easier said than done if you have a collection.

I leave mine in the window for a couple of weeks at a time throughout the year.
Never in direct sunlight as the metal watches get really hot and direct sun will degrade plastic over time.

And the best time to charge is when taking a nap in a park with the watch face oriented towards the sun.

Hahahaha good point. I believe he has purchased 2 or 3 G’s in a week or so. Soon enough he will find an odd contrast enter his life: an empty wallet and a full windowsill of thirsty G’s.
