How many CTL1616 have died on you ?

In my case 3 out of 4 bought at about the same time in 2004. I also have a GW5600 and a GWM5600 but those are too 'fresh' to be added to the statistics - we'll talk about them in 4 years :)

    IMPORTANT UPDATE:
    - when I say 'died' it also covers the point where no matter what you do the battery can no longer provide power for the light - only one of the above is totally dead now, but all started precisely the same way - even if the battery was apparently full any attempt to start the light would trigger 'save mode' ... generally from that point it's only a matter of months until it gets worse ...

I've had 3 die on me, out of about 7 or 8. Not a very good track record.

Were any of those in suspect module models?

I believe I had 2 that died on me and one was DOA (with knowledge). All were 1st generation Tough Solar Waveceptor models. 2 x GW-300, the other I believe was an MTG-930.

    Cheers,

    I've never had one die.

Maybe I need to also say that I always keep AutoEL activated and I sleep with a Casio, so in my case the batteries in 2 of the 3 dead ones were seriously 'challenged' (not impossible to have an average of ten AutoEL/day), and those were also the lesser 'tough solar' models. The third one however was a G2800 (which also had the best precision of all my Casio models) - and that one wasn't really used a lot :(
