    Howdy! What should I get for a 1st G-Shock?

    Hello,

As a quick intro I work in a casino and will not be wearing this as a work watch. I have 2 Tags (Kirium chrono and Carrera), a Citizen Eco-Drive, Tissot T-Race, and some giant black and red Android. My only digital watch I can recall owning was a Timex Ironman. I am looking for a G-Shock as a quality digital to wear during certain activities and fashionably. Intended uses: Mt Biking, Kayaking (primary reason I want a tough digital), geocaching, snowboarding, and just around town so it should look good.
The only features I desire are possibly the solar and atomic capabilities and neither is a necessity. I assume any of them have an alarm. I would really like to have a Krink collab, or the illest but have trouble justifying the price. I also really want one of the Kawasaki ones but missed the boat on that. Anyone know where I can get a band/case in the Kawi green to maybe make my own?

Currently I am considering a G9000BP-1 or G9300GY-1. Has anyone seen the Men in Smoky Gray series in the USA?

    -Miles

    Hello Miles. Welcome.
I will give you the most common answer you will get here: get them both!
They are great watches, you already have amazing ones, the best thing you do now is get two more awesome Gs.

I love my Riseman and used to Mt Bike a lot. Wish it was around back when I did a lot of hill climbing.

Thanks for the welcome! I should have known that's the answer I would get.

Look like the G9300GY is more suitable to your activities since it has the compass.

The G9000 is a great watch. I wouldn't recommend the Purple though, as it's a little hard to read. I saw it in person recently and was unimpressed. I have it in light tan (G9000-8) and you can still get those on ebay. There are also some Motocross inspired color schemes (G9000MX-2,4 and 8) but unfortunately, they didn't include a Kawasaki Green in that series. I ride a Green Ninja and would love to have a G7710KRT-3, but I'd have to sell my bike to get one. Maybe they'll do another Kawi collaboration soon.

Yes, the Smoky Gray is out in the US, in limited numbers. I might recommend a GW6900-1 for you.. solar atomic.. but

There is also a DW6900NB-3 you may be interested in due to the color...

Welcome to the forum. Virtually any G-Shock would suit your purposes. Look for the design, color scheme and features that you like! Both eBay and our very own sales forum often have models that are no longer widely available -- it is worth searching there for the Kawasaki collaborations, etc.

you can't really go wrong with either one, but i would go for the G9300 series because its solar, the buttons are easier to press and built in compass.

unless you NEED two chronographs (and yes, I did ran into situation where I wish I had two chronographs that I can do at the same time), then go with the G9000

Wow, been out of the trade too long. That G9300 is nice. I think the G9000 is better looking overall though. Personally I'd get the G9300 Black & Gold if they are still out there. Neg is not for everyone though
