    Hydro Mod question

Is it possible or recommended to do a Hydro Mod (filling the case with hydraulic fluid) on a Rangeman?

I have been reading all the older info on this mod and it seems like something that would be fun and useful if it can be done to the Rangman.

Most of the info available is older and never mentions the newer models.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Art

I would be concerned that it may affect the sensors.

I hydro modded my Rangeman and the sensors work perfectly. The Rangeman may be more difficult so I'd be extra careful!

Don't risk ruining a watch like the Rangeman for a mod that is not needed from a water resistance standpoint.

    Hi EDWING206,

Glad to hear that the sensors work after the mod.

You mentioned that you hydro modded your Rangeman but "the Rangeman may be more difficult so I'd be extra careful".

    Can you elaborate?

    Thanks,

    Art

    Re: Hydro Mod question

The Riseman's sensor is connected to the module by a ribbon connector which looks very fragile. I've never opened a Rangeman so I'm not sure if the internals are different, they could have more connectors (just speculation here). I guess I was just saying be careful.

I'm confused too -- should the first quote instead read "I hydro modded my Riseman and the sensors work" and so forth?

Otherwise I'm not sure how you can say "I hydro modded my Rangeman" and "I've never opened a Rangeman" -- how did you get the oil in if you never opened it?

Wow. I just read my first response. It should say RISEMAN...I've never even seen a Rangeman in person! Too much school...brain dead

I was going to say, how can someone do a mod like that and resist the urge to share pics!
