Angry I Boiled By WCCS Frogman Black, Thanks Mr. Buzzbait!!!

Hi everyone, I took the plunge thanks to Mr. Buzzbait and dyed my WCCS Frogman a lovely stealthy black. I couldn't find the RIT brand dye here in Singapore and so I used a brand called Dylon, which turned out beautiful. Tell you the truth, after I took out the band and bezel from the pot, I couldn't stop shaking with excitement because it came out so beautiful. Enough talk, here are some modem busting pictures:

    1. The Before Look, dirty translucent yellowish:

Now the result after leaving to simmer in dye for 15 minutes, black, beuatiful and stealth like:

As you can see, they came out black and opaque, when I figured they might come out smoky grey and translucent. Luckily too, the letterset on my WCCS Frogman is black, so now it's all stealthed too. Thanks again Mr. Buzzbait for showing and inspiring me. Next to the pot, is another translucent WCCS Frogman and DW-5600 Dolphin and Whale Special Edition. I'm thinking of all yellow for the WCCS and maybe red for the DW-5600. Will keep you all posted

    Hi GB2G,

That is an amazing good result. I know the Dylon fabric dye. We have it here too. That Frog looks freaking good,

    Cheers,

I really like that, but won't the dye wear off?

Holy Moly ! That looks absolutely amazing. Hoochy gave me the idea to dye my ICERC fisherman (se my post),and after seeing your results I feel tempted to try.

Yes, I'm sure it will eventually, but I don't know how long it will last since this is my first dye job. So far, I've rubbed it down with a white cloth after drying an hour and nothing black came off... I figure the dye will fade very gradually and leave the watch a smoky grey which is nice too I think. The good thing is, I can dye it again maybe after a year.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, I'm off to get some yellow and red for my next job.

PS, please note, I didn't boil the watch, he he he, I followed some very good instructions on dying plastic pieces from this link. Please read it if you'd like to try:

Thank you Sir, I am so envious of your Yellow Frogman, so I am going to dye my other Frogman yellow, but I also like your Red Frogman, so do you think I should make the bezel yellow and the straps red Is this a nice combination you think?
