    I caught the fever.

So I got my first casio about a month ago. A PAW-1300. After this time I find that while I'm happy with it, I seem to yearn for something a little different. I was torn between ordering a GW-9000 or a GW-400. Well a sprung for the GW-400. Something about the vibrating alarm seems cool. Anywho, I observed that the straps on both the GW-400 and the Mudmans seem pretty similar. Anyone have both and can through their input in? I wanna make some adapters to throw a NATO strap on.

Welcome to the addiction! I have had both the GW-400 and currently have a Mudman (I did have both at the same time too). I will say the bands are basically identical, save for some different text printed on them. The difference being the GW-400 uses screw-pin links which screw into each other at the watch head to secure the band to the watch. The Mudman uses two individual screws that screw into resin on the Mudman. I feel the attachment style of the GW-400 is stronger/better but both will serve quiet well for a long time.

And about strap adapters...I'm sad to say it's quite impossible, unless you mold you're own. The problem is when you remove the band, the part that the Mudman screwed into is resin, and sits right where you need to slide the adapter into. If you were to cut the adapter to make it fit, the adapter would be very weak. I'm assuing the GW-400 looks the same way, as I never took off the band on the GW-400 (didn't have a 2nd small set of good screwdrivers).

Good luck in resisting the purchase of more !

Fair warning: Perusing this forum significantly increases the chances that you will purchase more watches in the near future. I found this website less than a month ago and now have 2 G-shocks coming in the mail and am bidding on another one on ebay and have placed my Suunto Vector on sale to fund the purchase of a PAG40. I've told myself when the 2 G-shocks arrive in the mail, I need to stay away from this website for a few months. Good luck to you!

    Re: I caught the fever.

I had visitors from a school from San Diego (USA) today on the lab. One of the teachers wore a huge ProTrek, so I asked what he was wearing. It was a PAG-1300! I always thought these were smaller models. This thing loked HUGE (and also very nice)....

I like the GW-400, but it doesn't receive signal in Europe. It has a cool look. And the Fever is not too bad... There are three (3) Gs in the mail to me at the moment. One is due to arrive tomorrow

    Cheers,
