Off Topic post I created sub-categories for divers; have you done the same for Gs???

So dive watches are already a sub-category of watches. I've now created sub-categories for a sub-category of watches!!

I don't just have divers.. I have dress divers, sport divers, and BEAST divers. Have you done the same for Gs? I did, below....

    Like so:

    Sport Diver, Sinn U1-ST:

    Dress Diver, Seiko MM600:

Size: 1.62 MB

Now the question is, have you done this with Gs?? If so, what are the sub-categories and what are the watches??

Here are mine: beater, dress/sport, everyday, and BEAST Gs!

    Beater G, DW-5600E:

    Dress/Sport G, MTG-B1000TF-1AJR:

    Everyday G, GW-5000:

Is there any doubt which one falls under the BEAST G sub-category??

Naturally these sub-categories are not rigid. Many watches can fit into each sub-category, and some can fit into multiple sub-categories. For ex, I would not hesitate to wear the GW-5000 as a Dress/Sport G, an Everyday G, or a Beater G! (only one it doesn't fit is the BEAST sub-category... )

How 'bout you? Do you have sub-categories for your Gs? What are they?

(p.s. you and I know that sub-sub-categories are not necessary. It's just another excuse to buy more Gs!!! For ex: "WHAT????!! I've gone 20 years without a Dress/Sport G???!! I MUST pick one up today!!!!" )

Fun idea for a thread, T4P. I'll play. I consider all my Casios to fall under the "Sport" umbrella, but here are the sub categories under that.

"When the shadow of the sash appeared in the curtains it was between seven and eight o'clock and then I was in time again, hearing the watch. It was Grandfather's and when Father gave it to me he said I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire.... I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you might forget it now and then for a moment and not spend all your breath trying to conquer it."

    The gray Rangeman is sweet!

My categories would be something like:

    * “Dress” (as close as it gets): Full Metal
    * Working in the garage: GWM5610 (plus bullbars)
    * Beast/anything outdoors: Rangeman

    And others according to mood.

Re: I created sub-categories for divers; have you done the same for Gs???

Great idea for a thread, T4P. I guess I don't have enough watches for many categories, but I'd classify the members of my collection as follows:

    1. Everyday officewear: primarily GW-5000. When I'm feeling fancy and go by car instead of motorcycle, MR-G G1000.
    2. Tough watch for yard work, chores, vehicle maintenance: GW-9400, sometimes GW-5000.
    3. Weekend fun-watch: PRW-6600
    4. Formal watch: MR-G G1000
    5. Sport watch: Garmin Fenix 5.

The Seiko Samurai is new, I've been wearing it non-stop for a week. When the purple haze fades I think it'll work in categories No 1 and 3.

Otherwise I found out that the bug is as virulent for divers as for Gs. I just got one diver, yet already thinking about adding another one. Maybe a classic, black dialled one with round markers, sapphire, possibly titanium...

Glad that I'm not the only one who's splitting the hair here. Under Square Catagories, I have ....

    Formal work wear collection

    GMW-B5000G1

    GW-5000

    GW-S5600

    Homemade DW-5600MS with positive display

    Casual

    GW-B5600

    Homemade Madness

    Homemade DW-5600YU

    Beaters

Homemade 5030 on resin it's been Hydro'd and back.

    G-5600

    I don't have sub catagory for non-square

Edit: It would be better to disclaim that all Homemades use only genuine Casio parts from its authorized dealer and genuine Casio donor watches
