I like watches, so I thought I might fit in here.

    Greetings, watch enthusiasts!

Well, I'm a watch monger, as I'm sure many others are, on this forum. I've got a plethora of both analog & digital watches, none too costly, and the collection continues to grow.

What brought me to this forum was my current thirst for a new G Shock. I've got two older DW-004's and a GW-500A, and now I'm considering either a GD-100-1BCR or GW7900B. I really like the super illuminator LED on the GD-100 series, but I'm leary of the fit, fearing it might protrude, uncomfortably, beyond the edge of my wrist. I have a 7" wrist, for the record. The GW7900 has the wings to help conform to the wrist(same as my DW-004's), and also has atomic/solar, but stands a little taller, and costs a good $50 more. Anyways, this is what I'm currently considering.

    Cheers!

    Hi and welcome

I also have a 7" wrist, and for me, everything apart from the Atomic Frogman and the GX-56 "King" range is totally wearable for me. Of the ones you mention, I prefer the 7900. I think it looks a little classier and more restrained than the GD-100.

Anyway, it's all personal preference, and it's good fun deciding on what to get as well as finally wearing one!
The Search function on vBulletin forums isn't very smart. If you want to search for a complete string in the G-Shock forum, or for posts which include multiple words, use Google, and enter site:forums.watchuseek.com/f17 into the search box. Then use normal google syntax after that to enter your search.

Thanks for the response. Yes, that's what great about the immense variety of G Shocks, in that each person can find one that suits their fancy. I agree. The GW7900B seems more restrained, but I can't help but admire the gritty, ruggedness of the GD-100. Makes me think of Mad Max. :D

    Welcome to the forum.

Those are both great picks. I haven't had a chance to try on a GD-100, so I'm not sure how it will wear on the wris. Someone else can probably help you out with that more though. Good luck with the quest.

I def have thin wrists (never measured them before though) and my GA-100 fits fine which I believe shares the exact same body/band as the GD-100 so you will probably be fine.

Thanks! It's funny to see your comment, DougFNJ, because I was just thinking the other day, of how cool an online 'watch enthusiast group' might be, and then I heard this forum mentioned on one of your YouTube reviews.

Well, the news is, I purchased a GD-100-1B off eBay. Should get it by the middle of next week. I'm hoping it'll suit my fancy, for the present. At least, for the next year or two. I really need to cut back.
