he wore a dive computer for sure and probably no watch at all. but if he did, it certainly wasn't a G (wonder how I figured that out). there are plenty of 1000meter+ modells to buy, Sinn, Rolex, UTS just to name a few...

Sorry to disappoint but there would have been no external instrumentation as it would not have been visible to the diver. He would have had a small illuminated internal instrument panel visible but all life support, depth and chronometric measurement would have been monitored topside with a data link to the diver. Within the suit the diver may have been wearing a watch. I'd like to think that it might have been a Doxa T-Graph or a Seiko 1000m Tuna Can.

Regardless, the view down there must have been awesome!

I think this diver was "just" wearing his divers watch, but any watch would have survived. It was a " Atmospheric Diving System" with a hard suit, which means inside the suit there is a pressure of just a little more than 1 bar, although the outer pressure is around 67bar! That's why the suit isd called the Hardsuit 2000.

...and IF he was wearing a watch, it would have been because he put it on as a conditioned reflex without thinking because, under those sleeves, there ain't no seeing what time it is ...
