If you could only have one...

... and you didn't want to spend more than about $100 ...
... and you don't want an over sized huge watch on your wrist ...

    Which one?

Funny thing - similar questions pop up every other month but in fact the answer I would give is also different every other month . So at the moment it would not be a G-Shock but the W-S220 Casio "Collection" (sometimes called Casio "Sport" in other countries) model. You could argue about the size of course:

    If it should be a G - I'd say any G-7700/7710 model - like the G-7710-1:

    or maybe the G-7710C-3:

I'd like to submit a Timex:Timex T5F821. I had one of these, it's shock resistant and feature filled. I loved mine, and I intentionally treated it to a hard life and it has proved indestructible. I lost it somewhere in the last 6 months but I have also noticed there are a few out there for under 40 bucks to be had and it's a steal I can attest. In fact I just might order another one. I'm not kidding if you are looking for a decent watch it is one. You just won't get solar or atomic. But you will get a heck of a lot.

That one looks very good on the wrist. It was massively discounted here during last year's Xmas sales. Might look out for it this year.

    Thanks for sharing the pic.

You're welcome. Best about this model is the contrast on the display:

Very easy ro read. I'm even considering getting the G-8100A-9 as it seems to have the same color on the display - there also was a Pathfinder with that color - the PRG-110C-3.

I was going to say GW-5000 until I saw the $100 requirement. So I would keep my DW-5000SL (Spike Lee) which I paid about $100 for (although that is a very good price and they usually go for more like $200)

For a more easily found watch, I would get a DW-5600, which is one of the cheapest and best watches overall, for practical use. It is not terribly interesting though.

Re: If you could only have one...

    >$100, not huge, forever? easy, any GD-100. probably the 1B or MS-1.

the backlight is the best of ANY g-shock, the battery life is rated 7 years non-solar, has all the regular features but no useless extras, large easy to read face, very lightweight and comfy.

i have these 2 on the way right now:

    Name: 4a.jpg
Views: 826
Size: 52.7 KB

    Name: GD-100MS-3D_MED.jpg
Views: 959
Size: 30.6 KB

while i love all my other G's, in a WW3/zombia apocalypse/desert island situation, i would def grab either of them for my one and only.

****EDIT: "not huge" pertains to me only, my wrist is 8.25" so to me, these are a not huge size. they may be huge to others.***

GD-100 is a great choice except that I think most people would think of it as very big. For an 8.25 inch wrist, no.... but anything under 7 inches, and it might seem too big. Personal opinion, of course.

no you're right, on my wrist they look like a 6900 looks to everyone else. so for me, the rules apply. others, maybe not.
