I'm the mug who bought the USPA Riseman on ebay

No, not the used one that we all laughed at a while back because it was relisted so often...I got the new one from bbtiesto , and paid $200 inc. shipping! My finger slipped...

I plan to wear it, so I suppose the value will be zilch pretty soon. I wish I had never discovered this site - it's ruining me!

How much were these things new?

Ha ha, nice slip, I love this marshmellow Riseman. It's a beauty so don't be too hard on yourself. Not sure how much they retailed for, but they were a really hot model at one time. Many have likened it to either a Spider or a Turtle, but I think it just looks awesome. Congrats!!!

I'm glad you approve...here's another shot emphasising the marshmallowyness of the thing. To my mind the new Riseman looks too much like any other G-Shock, so when I saw this I decided it was a little piece of history that had to be grabbed.

I think these were around $300 or $325 when new (MSRP). I remember I got mine (standard Riseman) from a store, and it was around that new. Unfortunately, I wasn't into keeping boxes/manuals at the time...and foolishly threw away the boxes etc.

I agree with your thought on the new Riseman. It does blend into the G lineup. I (personally) also don't really care for the layout of the LCD, and find it quite busy. But, to each their own! I know many around here are looking forward to it.

Congrats on getting this one new . I think it will hold some value, unless you really abuse it and beat it up. In that case, it served it's purpose as a G .

Here's a quick shot of mine (ah...really gotta retake this shot...looks like a huge scratch but really just a dog hair):

Nice looking watch, I'll play along too as I have one...picture was previously posted to compare the size of the G-Cool as I am not in the habit of wearing two watches at the same time.

    Hi Nick,

Great watch. If Casio had used other accents than blue, it would had been mine Can you make an EL shot. I am curious how that looks like. Congratulations. I believe that is a great price. Wear with pleasure in good health!

    Cheers,

Glad you like it Sjors! I haven't received the watch yet - all the pics are from the ebay listing. Here is one of the backlight:

This is certainly one of the rarer Riseman models, I would say that would be near impossible to keep clean, it is almost clinically white!
Nice purchase though and at a decent price
