    I'm a novice G-shock enthusiast

Hello everyone, My name is Mike. I have 2 watches. I am interested in gradually building a small collection. Does anyone have advice? I'm from New York. Are there are any good stores in town?

    Welcome to the forum Mike.

As for recommendations for a beginning G-Shock collection. I would recommend a newer model (i.e. Frogman GW-200 or Mudman G/GW-9000) as they are both watches that epitomizes what a G is all about. Just my .02 cents worth. :-D

You might want to visit a Wal-mart to feel and play with a few G's to see how they...

are and then Get the Frogman

I recently purchased the GW-300A-2V but found it too big for my wrist. I'm putting it up for sale on e-bay. I just purchased the G-2500-1V because I just love the design. To me (also a G-Shock newbie) this look is what I think of when I think of G-Shock. Here is picture:

$59 bucks at Wal-Mart is a steal in my book. I have a SS Rolex GMT that I paid thousands for but I find I like wearing my G-Shock 90% of the time! I might be putting the Rolex up for sale too!

The 2500s also one of my favorites.. as i have both colours.. I agree the design is true, and almost echoes the design of the 8200 Frogmans..

I love how light the G-Shocks are in comparison to the Rolex. I also don't have to worry about banging up my G-Shock either. For the price of the Rolex I could buy a new G-2500 every year for the next 70 years!:-D

    Hi there Mike,

Glad to have you aboard. My pick for a nice addition would be either a G-2300 or a G-2310 . These nice simple watches and tough solar as well. If you search for the thread, there have been some SERIOUS torture tests being done to the G-2310.

Me Too - I'm from CT.......

There used to be a G-Shock Factory Outlet in Soho. That's where I got my now discontinued, I believe, DW-9000. Hopefully the store is still there - it was a blast!!

    Regards, Eric
