Im totally impressed my Riseman is getting a sync in its tin...

One more time... in the foam, in the tin, IN a box, under tissue paper and under a well lit tree... and still, getting its nightly sync.

Dont ask me how I know these things...

    ;)

Lets see. First you will wear out the tin, then the foam, then the gift bag! Either way, enjoy!

I think this kind of xmas naughtiness requires a spanking.

I had my GW-400 sync in Oz, fully wrapped in original box etc, inside the shipping box. Over 7,200km from Tokyo.

Ha ha, that's a coincidence - I was just thinking how impressive it was that my new GW-810BD had synchronized last night in its tin, en route to me via Royal Mail. I wonder where it was when it sync-ed?*

    *This is not healthy

This can actually be quite useful.

Way back when I ordered my first PAW1300 from the US, it took several weeks to get to me. The tracking service indicated that it had left the US about a day after it was posted, but thereafter I had no more news for about 3 weeks until it finally 'arrived' in the UK.

When I got the watch, it was of course set to sync to the Fort Collins transmitter. And its last successful sync was indeed on the day of posting.

This lent credence to the view that the watch had indeed left the US at the time the tracking service indicated, and the hold-up was actually in the UK.

Of course, I can think of other explanations (such as not getting a signal wherever it was being stored in the US before being shipped out), but it is at least some evidence.

Although I live 1770 Km SE of Mainflingen (the closest station), my GW9200 has synced the four last nights in a row! On my hand, in my bedroom! Unbelievable!
