    Hi,

I won a DW-6300 with Module 1084 on the bay

now I found out that there was a re-release of this modell in 04.

what is difference between these Pre-Froggies?

    TIA

    Nice pick up!

not sure about a re-release, but the new froggies have EL backlighting while this one has a tiny light bulb on one side. Also yours has a steel back I think while a lot of the new ones have a titanium back.

I'm sure Ozzie and Sjors can tell you more!

Great purchase, don't ever sell it!

    Hi Uwe,

Sorry for my late reply. It's a vintage model, nicknamed "Frogman". It stood model for the later Frogman versions and can be considdered the first Frogman. I have one and it's simply awesome. It's quiet heavy, so you have the feeling you have a real watch in your hands. The later Frogman models had all a Titanium case, so they are all very light. I got mine from Germany and I have seen several on auction the past years. I think that it means that there are sold quiet a lot (relative) of them around 1993, like the DW-8200.

I don't think there was a re-release of this model in 2004, or I would have known. A re-release would probably had an EL backlight, since Casio isn't using lightbubles anymore since 1996.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

    Hi Sjors,

    meanwhile I found this:

    http://www.kendeson.com/products/wat...0/DW-6300.html

    Today my DW-6300 has arrived

feels very good on the wrist, but I have to get used to the offset of the watch on the strap.

    Hi Uwe,

That's a NOS model, not a re-release. I have good experience with Kendeson in the past BTW.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

    Re: Infos needed about DW-6300

    Hi UBU,

There are a few basic 6300s that were released.

There was the 6300-A, 6300-B,6300-C and so on. There are some physical differences on the bezel and the engrave of the frogman logo on the caseback.

From what i have observed, the ones with the frogman logo engraved on the caseback of the basic 6300s are more expensive. 6300s without the frog logo on the back are still quite affordable.

Another 6300 that was released was a yellow version. There was no reproduce for this one. Furthermore there is a frogman logo on the caseback.

From my knowledge of prices, i would give a rough estimate for all 3:

6300 with frogman logo on the back: USD280
6300 with no frog logo on the back: USD250
    6300B-8 (gum metal model): USD500-USD700
    6300- Yellow frog: USD360

    cheers~
    SKy
