    Just arrived: G-2300B-1V

It took just 3 days to get this watch from NY to The Netherlands and no customs bill this time and I paid just $30.
How do they do it? Well, it's made in Thailand...

Anyway, a lot you are familiar with this G, so I there isn't a lot to explain about it, except that I bought it because of the nylon strap and the reviews on WUS.

    Pics: (a lot)

The nylon strap is comfortable, except for a few 'melted' stitches. A little bit of sanding solved the problem.

It's also fairly big and has the old-school style, which I like a lot more than the newer and smaller G's.
Functionwise it's a basic, but has a lot more than for example a 6900:
Databank, T-5s countdown, world time, scrolling dot matrix display, auto EL and solar.
I think the solar cell is a little less advanced compared to my AWG-101; it takes more time/sunlight to charge it.

Overall it feels VERY though, just like my 6600/6900, only readability of the display isn't up with these two. On the other side it has some cool gimmicks.

The reason it takes longer to charge is probably due to the larger solar battery. The AWG-101 uses the CTL1616, while the G-2300 uses the larger ML2016 found in the Frogmans. Congratulations on your new watch, I'm wearing mine this morning.

    Hi Flex,

I have a little love/hate relationship with this model. It was before the Waveceptor models the basic model, equipped with the most features. It has even more features than the Raysman.

My downside of this model is that I find it looking small. When this watch is actually measured, it has the same dimensions as the DW-6900 and DW-6600...

In the past I have recommended this model to a lot of people. It has an enormous solar energy storage capacity. The watch run happily for about 3/4th of a year when charged fully, while it is loaded with functions, while it was actually sold as a "cheap"watch. I hope you like it. Wear in good health.

    Cheers,

    Sjors
