    Smile Just ordered a Mudman!

Hi folks, my DW6900 (three eyed devil) died (battery) so this gave me an excuse to get a new G. After reading the forums here I decided on a Mudman, green of course. I wanted a Frog but I am not a diver but I am in the military and wanted something a bit more rugged than what I had. I think the Mudman will fit the bill nicely.

Ordered it from HB. Hope it gets here soon!

Thanks everyone for a wonderful and helpful forum!

    Hi Crabster,

Welcome to our forum and thanks for your compliments. I think you will like the Mudman. Note you have a mute mode on-board for special operations. From which country are you? It took days to arrive from Brooklyn to the Netherlands, so I think you will have it soon! If you have any questions about typical functions, don't be afraid to ask. There are quiet a few owners here (including myself) to answer your questions. Oh yeah, don't forget to change a new battery in your old DW-6900. Those models are too nice to leave dead.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

    Hi Crabster -

The DW-8400 is the older type MUDMAN you got the 2006 model. It looks great and can't wait to see those photos

By the way, what country are you located in and what does your user name represent?

    Re: Just ordered a Mudman!

Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcome! Yes I will be replacing the battery in the 6900 and yup I ordered the '06 model version of the Mudman. I am in the States. My user name is based on my military specialty. I am a EOD tech and our qualification badge is known as the "Crab" hence crabster.

The 6900 served me well in the sandbox and I can't wait to see if the Mudman will perform as well as or better. I'd love to get my hands (or wrist) on a Gaussman but A) they are a bit too 'spensive for me right now and B) can't find them anyway.

The Frogman would be cool but I am neither a real Frog or a diver in general so I'd feel a bit weird wearing it. Of course if I need my USN buddies would never let me live it down.

It would be really cool if Casio did a Gaussman/Mudman version for EOD. Hmmm..........

Hey OZZIE, what model G is 3rd from right in your sig? (Shows time of 2:47)

    Thanks again!

Well the postman has come and gone...no Mudman today. Maybe tomorrow it will arrive.

    Re: Just ordered a Mudman!

My new Mudman arrived today! It is the dark green version. My very first thought was "Cool looking watch" then I thought about sending it right back. A couple observations compared with my DW-6900:

-The Mudman "seems" quite a bit smaller than the DW-6900.
-The Mudman "feels" lighter, the 6900 has a heavier feel- which I prefer.
-The Mudman band feels toy like compared to the 6900. I wonder how long it will last. The watch does feel comfortable on my wrist though.

I really like the green/black. If I was Casio, I would blacken the screws and buckle.

The watch looks like it is sealed pretty well, we'll see just how tough out on the demo range.
