King of G-shock owners, enlighten me please...

    First off.

A big congrats to everyone who has gotten their hands on the elusive "king"

I would love to have owners come in and tell us what model they picked up, post wrist size and a wrist shot.

If you guys could do that, I think it would really help the rest of us that are close to pulling the trigger.

    Thanks guys!

i picked up the black gold gxw56 since i'm not a fan of negative lcds and i love how the gold lcd looks like.. they should've put gold buckles but the matte silver buckle is alright. my wrist size is 7in.

    some comparison pics:

    with 5500

    with 5600ms, dw9052

    with dw5600eg-9v

    Hey Cam.

I got my monster on roids in today. It doesn't look freakishly out of place b/c of the really short "lugs." If it had any length to its lugs at all like a traditional diver, it would definitely be overhanging. Here's mine on a 7in. wrist as well...

Here are some comparison shots with a GWF-1000 Frogman and a GW-5000.

And here´s the wristshot. My wrist size is about 7.75 (depends on temperature ).

The King of G-Shock looks great no doubt. But with such huge construction made of resin parts, looks like things are going to get ugly when resin rot sets in the the years to come.

The watch itself however, looks like it can take any beating with its extra tough structure.

I agree with you. It remains to be seen what spare bezel and strap availability will be like and at what cost. Have to say in cold dull Scotland my 15 year old DW-8XXX's don't show any signs yet but having said that I'm not about to start prising at bits of the resin to check.

IMHO countries where it is sunnier and hotter accelerate the damage to the resin parts.
