    Korean made DW-5600E-9V FOX FIRE

I have a pretty good sized G-collection and have been recently smitten with a square G thats been hanging out in the back of the dresser draw for the last two years.the Iconic square 9V(gold text, brass buttons)brother to the DW-5600E-1V.now I am pretty sure the fox fire text means this watch was meant for the japanese domestic market, however case back denotes made in Korea.since manufacture has switched from thailand then china do the powers that be know a possible production timeframe.could it be these were produced right after the end of the steel chassied 901 moduled C were discontinued?

    Cheers
    John

The "E" came out in 96. I read somewhere that if it has "Korea Y" on the case back it's from the 1998 time frame.

Hello Fergfour, caseback denotes C under Korea.1545 module was in these for years before module switch.maybe the last of manufacture in Korea before switching production to another country.it def does not suffer the fate of the latest produced chinese made 5600E,s with stubbier buttons and lighter contrast.

Korea T 1993, Korea C 1995, Korea Y 1998 I can't back that up, just internet "facts". I've found that sometimes based on the serial number or other caseback data, it's 1 year before what mygshock says. Perhaps that means while it was manufactured in 95, it was officially released in 96 not sure.

95/96 not bad its vintage.the bezel + strap are OEM and pliable with no white powder from the 5600C days, they must have perfected the resin formula by the mid-nineties since everthing is Original and looks terrific.
