    Last G-Shock Purchase for 2006 (G-056B)

I finally took the plunge and maxed out my credit card. Got a new G-056B-1V (module 3028).

In my opinion, this has to be one of the coolest watches I have ever owned. Sorry guys, but I still haven't been bitten by the Frogman/Mudman bug.

This model is super thin. The numbers are big and easy to read. The buttons are somewhat small and were difficult to press at first, but once you know where they are, its not that much of a problem. Big fingers will have some trouble, though.

The Timer, which is absolutely brilliant (with 9 different intervals - haven't been able to test it fully) is one of the cool features. It is definitely a watch for runners and bikers. I also like the Stopwatch function that can be programmed for timed events (99mins max). It even has an alarm that beeps at the end of the programmed event time.

Another cool feature is the A-EL timer. It resets to normal light operation after 6 hours in order to conserve battery (this model is non Tough Solar)

The tone of the buttons can be "muted" for silent operation.

My only beef with this watch is that it only has 1 daily alarm. Not sure how difficult it would be to incorporate more alarms.

This is the one of which there is a yellow "reggae" model with a jamaican style buckle and negative display isn't there?

I like it, very cool, unfortunately you and I are in a similar financial situation so can't indulge right now :)

    Thanks for doing this...

I had really ignored this one thinking that it was just the non-solar version of the GW-056 (I think you said you did the same thing in another post).

I don't know that Casio has put all those timing features - especially the interval stuff - in any other module. I know, for example, that it's not in the STR-600 Triathlon watch, which is a place you'd expect it.

I gotta think if I want this one or not - might actually get me to start running intervals. :-D Sure is a really useful way to help make that happen, and I give Casio big points for that.

And I've been thinking I need a "positive yellow" watch, too...

The referee timer has the interval functions. They are nice, howeve I wish it had a 24 hour stopwatch and 24 hour countdown timer.

Positivelyal/RWare, If you are a runner or do timed exercise you are going to love this watch. The 9 Interval Timers kick major butt. And when you combine this with the Auto-Repeat it works amazingly well.

Nope, no 24 hour stopwatch..but when would you need that. That's why we have many other G's on our collections.

And as my other post, the G-056 module is completely different than the GW-056. The timers on the G-056 are so versatile, its ridiculous. The stopwatch doesn't have the traditional LAP counter, and it works differently. It is geared to events such as a soccer match. It is very cool! I am very impressed! In my opinion, this is the coolest G-Shock since the start in the 80's

I didn't care for that model, but lately it's been in my sites.
