Let's see and hear you talking about your GW M5600-1ER

This is gonna be my next G for sure...

Are you guys happy about it ?? It really reminds me of my very first watch back in the '80ies.
Well, let's see some picture then and hear some stories of yours.

Gshockholick question : is it normal at 36 years of age of and plenty of more expensive automatics to drool over G shocks and make them your daily wearer while your Rolexes relax in the safe ???

Here's my GW-M5600 and I'm very happy with it. This was maybe my 4th or 5th G-Shock. As soon as I put it on, I immediately thought to myself, "Why did I not buy this one first?!"

As for your last question, I have an Omega Seamaster that I've been neglecting just to wear G-Shocks. They're just a different breed. Even though I've been wearing G-Shocks for the past few month, I would never part with my Seamaster. One day when you put your Rolex back on, you'll remember why you bought it in the first place.

I'm wearing my GW-M5600BC most of the time at the moment. I did wear my vintage Heuer Monaco to work the other day though and it made me feel very happy.

Wearing a GW M5600-1ER right now as I'm typing. Bought one about 6 months ago and wore it for the first time last night! I tried to sell it in the forums twice but didn't get the price I wanted. I'm so happy that I didn't sell it! It is awesome. Cool look, all the functions, and a super comfy bracelet. Loving it!

Best all-round G Shock for my money. If I could only have one G, this would be it.
Others models have different geatures that bring something to the table but this module features, size and price make it hard to beat for real world everyday use.

I bought one in June 08, flipped it, regretted it and have since bought two more! One standard and one fitted with a white GLX bezel and band.

Hah! I've asked this same question! I'm having such fun with them, and haven't worn my $$ autos (Rolex, Breitling, IWC, other various) even once ever since the bug bit!

How's the strap ?? It looks really '80ies cheap and thin. Is it the usual Casino tough resin ??

The strap is of the usual G-shock material and toughness.
So it will last between 2 and 20 years, depending on your environment.

The good news: Its compatible to DW-5600e and widely available, probably for a long time.
