    marketing time?

I was just leafing through my brand new G-Shock catalogs from my Japan trip, and noticed something interesting.

Casio almost always takes pictures of their G-Shock watches set at June 30 (unspecified year), 10:08:36 (almost always for analog watches) or at 10:58:50.

Anyone else notice this? Perhaps it's some marketing trick? Anyone know why, or what the significance of these dates/times is?

And the 10:08:36 time for their analog watches (that differs from the usual 10:10 time for pictures)?

I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

I guess it will remain a mystery then...

Perhaps 6/30 is exactly in the "middle" of the year?

    I don't know why they choose 6/30.

One reason could be that you can distinguish the day from the month. If it would show one of the first twelve days of the month (i.e. 6/11) this would be impossible. That matters expecially in Europe (dd/mm format).

Or maybe it's a birthday of a member of the Kashio family

Yeah, I hate it when I find an expiration date of 3/4 or something of the sort - does it expire on March 4th or April 3rd?

I like your hypothesis on the birthday...
